CAHSS AWARD

In this project, our team was selected to create the annual trophy for the Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh. Our design concept, "A Community," promotes and embodies the spirit of unity and mutual support at the University of Edinburgh. For design inspiration, we utilized the landscape of Edinburgh as our material source.

Our final design features two parts crafted from the silhouette of Edinburgh's landscape, stacked in a specific order. The larger section is fixed to the base, while the smaller part can be removed and given to others. The winner's name and category will be engraved on the bottom of the small piece.

Regarding the base, we plan to source suitable wood from recycling facilities around Edinburgh. From an environmental perspective, wood is a recyclable material. Instead of buying new wood, we are repurposing wood from discarded furniture. For the main body, we are using glass, also a recyclable material, in keeping with our commitment to sustainability.
